Theres no doubting this is about ZeldaThe most low-key Zelda annoucement ever has

Revealed that Monolith Soft are currently hiring for staff to work on a new game Wolfenstein: Youngblood trailer reveals July release dateIn what may be the most un-Nintendo like reveal ever, Monolith Soft, makers of Xenoblade Chronicles, have confirmed they are working on an unnamed new Legend Of Zelda project Nintendo themselves has made no such annoucement but Monoliths website is currently hiring for technical artists, programmers, planners, designers, and management support The fact that its a Zelda game isnt some ambiguous comment in the small print though, the whole page has been branded with Zelda artwork, including a version of the famous Triforce Is this Monoliths new Zelda gameMonolith (not to be confused with Monolith Productions, who make the Shadow Of Mordor games) are a bigger company than many realise, with three main studios, one of which is dedicated to helping out other Nintendo studios and has worked on Splatoon, Super Smash Bros , and Zelda: Breath Of The Wild. Advertisement Advertisement The most straightforward explanation for whats going on here is that Monolith are also helping out on the next mainline Zelda game, whether thats a sequel to Breath Of The Wild or something else But it could also be possible theyre making some kind of spin-off thats entirely their own work Previous to these job ads it was thought that Monolith were working on two games: something new from the Xenoblade team and what was previously described as a medieval fantasy game Hiring for that began in 2017 and as you can see from the artwork above it does look very much like Zelda, so its possible thats what it always was or that the project got transformed into a Zelda game somewhere along the way something that happens a lot with Nintendo franchises More: Gaming Borderlands 3 teaser trailer confirms previous leaks Game review: Yoshis Crafted World is a charming co-op adventure Game review: The Waking Dead The Final Season Episode 4 is the end of the storyAnd then theres the fact that Nintendo themselves were already caught hiring people to work on a new Zelda game last year, which adds credence to the idea that Monolith are helping out on a mainline sequel as they did with Breath Of The Wild Whatevers going on it may mean that were relatively close to Nintendo making an official announcement Probably not involving game footage but in the past theyve announced a name, or released a piece of artwork, fairly early on, before revealing the game proper a year or two later Advertisement Advertisement Email gamecentral@ukmetro.co.uk, leave a comment below, and follow us on Twitter Advertisement Advertisement
